Task 36: Integrating Energy Recovery Into Solid Waste Management Systems In October 2006, the Executive Committee of IEA Bioenergy approved a three-year work programme on Energy Recovery from Municipal Solid Waste - referred to as Task 36 (2007-2009). The Task objectives include the maintenance of a network of participating countries as a forum for information exchange and dissemination. The participating countries in this Task are Canada, the EC, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and the United Kingdom. The Operating Agent for this Task is Gary Shanahan from the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) in the UK.
